BIRD’S EYE BAR & GRILL OPENS AT LINCOLN PARK ZOO
The Kid-Friendly Dining & Events Space Offers Top Views, New Menu, Family-Friendly Games, & More
Bird’s Eye Bar & Grill, an exciting new dining and private event venue, has opened at Lincoln Park Zoo. A family-friendly respite, it is conveniently located above the gift shop and offers a fresh new menu of crowd-pleasing favorites, top view of the zoo’s lush landscape, and engaging activities for families to enjoy before, during, or after their meals.
“We are excited to have created a new, family-friendly destination for visitors to Lincoln Park Zoo,” said Vice President of Operations Kurt Zitzner.“The vision for Bird’s Eye Bar & Grill was to offer a fun, fresh dining option that caters to visitors of all ages, and we couldn’t be more excited to unveil it during our bustling summer months.”
The 6,000 square foot eatery, previously known as Café at Wild Things!, showcases a spacious outdoor pavilion setup, giving a birds eye view of the zoo grounds, and offers some of the most idyllic views of the main mall of the zoo, the birds and macaques from its vantage point. A retractable roof allows for guests to enjoy the view even during inclement weather and shields guests from the sun during the warm summer season. The colorful aesthetic combines elements of the nature around it with casual and inviting décor.
The dining experience at Bird’s Eye Bar & Grill is ideal for families looking to take a refreshing break from exploring the zoo. The menu of freshly prepared dishes is artfully designed with the season in mind. Offering something for every taste, items range from specialties including juicy burgers and BBQ sandwiches, to vibrant salads and satisfying flatbreads. Beer, wine, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages are also available. In addition to food, the new pavilion offers activities and games like giant Jenga, Connect 4, air hockey and a Foosball table for children and families to enjoy as they wait for their meals.
Bird’s Eye Bar & Grill is available to reserve for lively private events of all kinds, during both day and evening. From family gatherings to corporate functions, the versatile venue can accommodate groups up to 200 for a seated event, and up to 450 for a reception-style event. Catering options vary from a la carte service, to festive picnic packages highlighting themed fare such as Southern BBQ, Chef’s Harvest, and Oktoberfest fare, to reception menus featuring carving stations and a variety of tailored buffets and specialty stations.
