   Porchlight Music Theatre presents a holiday limited run with The Ruffians’ Burning Bluebeard at
the Ruth Page Center on December 13 through the 27th. If you haven’t heard, The Ruffians have performed this production for eight annual years. It is about the burning of the Iroquois Theatre which took place 1903 and the worse disaster in Chicago since the Chicago Fire. Jay Torrence, playwright. and the director Halena Kays who most recently served as artistic director of The Hypocrites, have put together a vaudevillian musical delight with choreography,circuses and gymnastics.    Porchlight star from Call Me Madam, Donica Lynn, will be headlining the main stage of Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies; along with Donica Lynn is Donterrio Johnson, Lorenzo Rush Jr., Eustace Williams, Molly Kral, Madison Pine, John Marshall, Jr., Shantel Cribbs, Jenna Schoppe, Terri K. Woodall, Tristan Bruns, Joey Stone, Ariel Dorsey Jeremiah Alsop, Tyler Symone. 

A celebration of Duke Ellington’s masterpieces, which many consider him being one of the most important composers in the history of American music, his music was heard from Harlem to Carnegie Hall, on Broadway in Hollywood and around the world. Duke Ellington’s Sophisticated Ladies can be seen January 24 through March 6, 2020 At Ruth Page Center, 1016 North Dearborn, Chicago.
   Freaky Friday, a new Musical, based on the hit book and beloved films, and from the combined talents who created Once Upon A Mattress. Featuring a fresh, fun and high energy musical score, this new Disney musical is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional take on an American Classic for the young and young at heart.
