Time is moving too
quickly this Summer!

If you haven’t been to Grant Park Music Festival in Millennium Park on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, lately, you are missing a real treat. I almost missed the greatest experience
in Music, but luckily I didn’t miss hearing guest conductor David Danzmayr, his credits are available, google him. There would be some difficulty find someone as astounding as he is to conduct Andrew Norman’s SWITCH, with percussionist Colin Currie. This was a Grant Park Music Festival Premiere and very well
received by the audience.
Andrew Norman was one of the four emerging composers receiving commissions through “Project 440” a musical celebration of the 40th
anniversary season in 2012., The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. His music was intellectual, light, and yet outstandingly eclectic. Just when you
heard the low notes, you could hear
the reach for the high ones. The use of the solo percussionist made this piece even more extraordinary, which the picture would indicate with the many percussion instruments Colin used. Enjoy the rest of August at Millennium
Park Music Festival and to assure good seating purchase a ticket through GPMF.ORG
