Voters let Patricia Joan Murphy know they were ready for a change last spring when they elected the Democrat to the Worth Township Committee post. Murphy is eager to make a difference in the community and welcomes residents to contact her for any questions, ideas or concerns they have. She also is looking for interested voters to join her and help fellow residents by serving as municipal liaisons and/or members at large in the Worth Township Democratic Organization. “It is our mission to find, encourage, and support qualified Democratic candidates to run for office, promote community involvement in the democratic process, offer inclusive membership to WTDO, educate voters about Democratic values, assist non-voters to become registered voters, and inspire activism in the political process”.
“I’m so grateful for the support Worth Township has shown me, and I want to get to know as many of you in the community as possible,” said Murphy. “Let’s work together now and help change the course of Illinois politics so not only those in Worth Township, but all Illinoisans feel our state is a great place to work, live and raise families. Together we can make a difference.”
“I was inspired to become a public servant while watching my mother, the late Joan Patricia Murphy. She held elected office for over 50 years including Cook County Commissioner, Worth Township Supervisor, and Worth Township Clerk. A true public servant, she worked tirelessly to help others and I want to continue her legacy and help as many people as I can for as long as I can."
Murphy has an open-door policy and invites residents of Alsip. Blue Island, Bridgeview, Chicago Ridge, Crestwood, Evergreen Park, Garden Homes, Hometown, Merrionette Park, Oak Lawn, Palos Heights, Robbins and Worth to contact her at worthtownshipdemorg@gmail, www.worthdems.org or 708-789-7703.
