Fall is considered the "shoulder season" for the state of Arizona, and quite possibly the best time to travel to Scottsdale. Why? Blue skies, sunny days and 70-degree temperatures are almost guaranteed. In addition, the room rates are 50% lower than the winter/spring peak season. The autumn season also offers reduced Spa service rates and Golf green fees are lower at the newly renovated Boulders Resort.

The autumn season introduces new Spa services. New garden to spa services that were inspired by the Spa's 5,600 sq. ft. Organic Garden include the
Pumpskin Hydrating Facial. Pumpkin has excellent regenerative properties for the skin that has had its fair share of summer. Loaded with a multitude of vitamins, beta carotene and antioxidants, pumpkin repairs damage to the skin caused by environmental factors and aging.
Another service that will heal and renew the skin after the hot summer months is the Organic Body Wrap, a naturally exfoliating and detoxifying body wrap that uses the antioxidant properties of blueberries, raspberries and black-
berries to tone and brighten the skin. Lactic acid, known for its hydrating and exfoliating benefits, will gently reduce dullness and leave the skin refined and re-texture, while paprika spice will create a warming sensation that will stimulate and energize the epidermis, leaving the skin smooth and glowing.
The autumn season brings a fresh new harvest. The Spa Café at the Boulders plans a healthy fall menu inspired by the autumn harvest of the 5,600 sq. ft. Organic Garden. Some of the delicious, fresh fare includes a Portobello Vegetable Wrap with arugula, tomatoes and avocado or the Red and Golden Beet Salad. Returning this fall is the popular "Meet the
Chef Culinary Series"
returns. Each class begins with a reception in the Spa Garden Terrace, and then leads into the Demonstration Kitchen and Classroom at the Spa for culinary demo's,
tastings, and a special guest chef & mixologist.
NEW RESTAURANT
While the Boulders Resort is serious about its championship golf courses, it is also scoring rave reviews for the myriad dining options from contemporary Southwestern cuisine to authentic Mexican cuisine, and healthy fare from the garden. Now, the newly designed Grill Kitchen & Bar at the Boulders Club brings a sophisticated casual dining experience with an extraordinary wine list and mouth-watering cuisine described as "American Classics" with intense and delicate flavor. With an open
gallery “chefs in action kitchen,” the Grill Kitchen is the place to enjoy great food combined with stunning views of the 18th green and surrounding desert tapestry. The newest focal point with the resort-wide renovation is the expanded outdoor terrace wrapped around the restaurant to offer panoramic views in all directions.

The autumn season brings a fresh “slice” of grass. During Arizona's hot summer, valley golf course conditions are challenged. But at the Boulders Resort, the two championship golf course conditions are in excellent condition.  The Boulders has a distinct advantage with a slightly higher elevation with bent grass that only thrives in the cooler temperatures
making golf greens the smoothest, most true putting surfaces.
According to Ryan McKay, Director of Golf Operations, "The Boulders' golf greens stand above the competition during the fall because the majority of the valley golf courses can only use Bermuda grass due to the extreme temperatures. Bermuda is much grainier and harder to hit out of  especially from the rough. With rye grass, you can hit through your golf shots and the ball sits up nicely. Also, in the fall, bent grass greens don’t require over seeding so there is no grow-in time for the winter rye grass and no change in the smooth and true putting surfaces."
In November, there is nothing more perfect than playing golf on brand new winter grass, which is a much darker green and visually stunning. The fall season is an ideal time to schedule a "Friends Golf Getaway" to see the newly renovated Clubhouse facility while taking advantage of value-added golf packages.
