For a city of only 900 residents, it is difficult to believe that the elegance and history which it maintains, still endures the residents from past to present. Elkhart is only an hour from Milwaukee airport, with a town of several restaurants, all with a different culinary cuisine.
Fine dining is at Lake Street Cafe with a lighter side at the Pub. Elkhart Inn is great for special occasions, and Back Porch Bistro is for a hearty everyday meal at Victorian Village Resort.  As you’re walking in the town and
you want something light, you can visit All Seasons Restaurant,
Black Pig, El Taco, Off the Rail, Three Guys and a Grill.

There are many places for overnight stay, some are elegant, others are historical and scenic, and others are like home.
One resort I stayed at was Victorian Village, which had the history, ambiance, scenic view and good food. You have a choice of the Hotel, Victorian Village or the Grand Lady Condos, all within the 11 resort, depending on vacancies. The best time is now for special rates during the
fall colors.
Victorian Hotel, which has an attached indoor pool, has special rates through Oct. 31st for mid week specials only. They offer a Thursday through Saturday package of $315 plus tax, which includes two nights with a $50

food certificate, or a more simple package of three nights, starting Sunday, Monday and Tuesday or three nights midweek for $248.64 including tax. If you are looking for more room than a hotel room, can upgrade into a condo at Victorian Village on the lake.

You cannot get bored on this 11 acre resort, if you enjoy the outdoors and scenic beauty it provides. Just in case you do get board take a two to three mile ride or walk to Road America and Elkhart’s Lake Historic Race Circuit. They are open all year and they had just had their 60th
Anniversary on September 10th. Check to see what is going on in October and the rest of the year. For more information, contact Road America at
[email protected] or call  1-800-365-7223.
