My first impression of Wekiva Island is, thank you Lord the parking is free. After walking to the The Tooting Otter, where all the daily business would start, I realized how much fun this place would be for two nights. Problem is there isn’t any overnight facilities on this island. Hotel, Motel, State Park Camping are all nearby. Reservations are not necessary for day visits, but if you want to
enjoy yourself in the sun, I would suggest advance registration for the cabanas, canoes, kayaks, for your family. The Tooting Otter is Wekiva Island’s outdoor and indoor bar where you can relax with drinks near the water or cool off in the AC and enjoy the newly renovated craft beer and wine bar inside.

Craft and domestic beer, large wine selection, soda, water, snacks and delicious menu items are always readily available. NOTE: Food and Outside beverages are
strictly prohibited unless you have rented a Cabana. Alcohol is never allowed on Wekiva Island in the parking lot or on the river.
The Boardwalk is located along the Wekiva River and Sweetwater Canal – ranging from The Sanctuary to the Boat Launch location. Wooden Adirondack chairs are placed along the water
for your comfort and enjoyment.
Guests are encouraged to move and arrange these chairs to create intimate seating for your group
as you relax on the river with family and friends.
The Event Tent is a common
area for you to gather and get out of the sun, into the shade and enjoy the activities occurring around you or maybe some live music on the weekends in the
afternoons. What is so great
about this Island, it gives you the peace and love you need, even when you are traveling. If Disney World is your desire, spend a few
days there and spend several
days in Seminole County and relax in Wekiva Island for a day and see what they are offering for that journey you waited so long to take.
