Smith communities offer free memory support care groups for family members, friends of those who have Alzheimer’s disease, dementia Thursday, May 2 at Smith Crossing in Orland Park; Tuesday, May 7 at Smith Village in Chicago
Southwest Chicago and suburban families and caregivers of older adults living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia are invited to free support groups either May 2 at Smith Crossing in Orland Park or May 7 at Smith Village in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood. Both begin at 6:30 p.m.
The hour-long gatherings at both life plan communities will be open to questions and comments about the various stages of cognitive loss. After the meetings, light refreshments will be served.
Thursday, May 2 Smith Crossing’s social service director Amy Majcina and life enrichment director Dana Mahler will be having an open forum discussion about the different stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. On Tuesday, May 7 Smith Village’s social service director of long-term care Diane Morgan will host an open discussion where she will answer questions about the progression and treatment of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
